Plan. Reset. Decide. Solve.

Organizations rarely struggle because people are not working hard enough.

More often, the problem is unclear direction, outdated assumptions, competing priorities, difficult decisions, or recurring operational issues that have never been fully diagnosed.

Holland Resource helps owners, executives, and leadership teams step away from the daily noise, look at the situation objectively, and determine what matters most.

Each begins with a different business situation. All four are built around the same principle: Understand the problem. Clarify what matters. Then move forward deliberately.

My Work Is Focused on Four Areas

Strategic Planning Sprint

When you need to decide where the organization is going next.

The primary consulting engagement offered through Holland Resource — designed for organizations that need clear direction and practical priorities without committing to a large, traditional strategic-planning engagement.

The process helps leadership examine the current situation, challenge assumptions, evaluate choices, and determine what deserves attention during the months ahead.

Typical questions may include:

  • Where should we concentrate our resources?
  • Which opportunities deserve investment?
  • What should we stop doing?
  • What has changed in our market, organization, customers, or technology?
  • Where are competing priorities creating confusion?
  • Are our people, processes, and resources aligned with our objectives?
  • Which assumptions behind our current direction need to be reconsidered?
  • What decisions have we postponed because they are difficult?
  • What should leadership accomplish during the next 12 to 24 months?

The objective is not to produce more strategy. It is to create clarity about direction, choices, priorities, and action.

Depending on the engagement, the result may include a concise strategy brief, clearly defined priorities, ownership, near-term milestones, identified risks, and the conditions that should trigger future adjustment.

Strategy Review and Reset

When you already have a strategy, but reality has changed.

Not every organization needs a new strategic plan. Sometimes the existing strategy remains fundamentally sound, but execution has stalled.

Sometimes leadership has accumulated too many initiatives. Sometimes the assumptions behind the plan are no longer true. And sometimes changes in the market, technology, organization, leadership team, or customer base require a deliberate reset.

A Strategy Review and Reset begins with the current plan rather than assuming it should be replaced. The work examines questions such as:

  • What remains valid?
  • What has changed?
  • Which priorities still deserve attention?
  • Which initiatives should stop?
  • Where has ownership or accountability weakened?
  • What is preventing execution?
  • Where are leaders working from different assumptions?
  • What needs to be adjusted now?

The purpose is not change for its own sake. It is to reconnect strategy with present reality and give leadership a workable path forward.

Executive Decision Advisory

When the decision matters and you need an experienced outside perspective.

Some situations do not require a formal consulting project. They require disciplined thinking. Executive Decision Advisory provides a confidential, business-focused setting for examining the decision before committing to action.

An owner, executive, director, or senior leader may be considering a significant opportunity, organizational change, investment, restructuring, leadership issue, or other consequential business decision. In those situations, an outside advisor can provide something difficult to find inside the organization: distance from the issue.

The work may involve:

  • Challenging assumptions
  • Separating facts from interpretations
  • Evaluating alternatives
  • Identifying risks and unintended consequences
  • Examining the issue from multiple perspectives
  • Testing the logic behind a proposed decision
  • Clarifying what success would actually look like
  • Identifying questions that have not yet been asked

Sometimes the most valuable question is not: What should we do? It is: What are we missing?

The purpose of Executive Decision Advisory is to help leaders think more clearly before the decision becomes action. This is defined business advisory work. It is not therapy, legal advice, financial advice, investment advice, or an open-ended coaching relationship.

Customer / Operational Problem-Solving

When something keeps going wrong and the obvious fixes have not solved it.

Recurring business problems are often treated one incident at a time. Then the same basic problem appears again. That usually means the visible problem is a symptom.

Customer / Operational Problem-Solving applies a diagnostic approach to recurring issues involving areas such as:

  • Customer experience
  • Workflow
  • Communication
  • Quality problems and rework
  • Productivity
  • Service delivery
  • Departmental handoffs
  • Accountability
  • Delays
  • Operational friction
  • Repeated execution failures

My approach goes back to one of the earliest disciplines of my career: Look closely at how the work actually gets done. That means following the process, listening to the people involved, examining information flow and decision points, and continuing to ask why until the underlying issue becomes clearer.

Executives see the organization from the top down. Employees experience it from the bottom up. Customers experience the consequences. Effective problem-solving requires understanding all three.

The objective is not simply to resolve today’s incident. It is to identify what is producing the problem and determine what can realistically be changed.

Who I Work With

Holland Resource is best suited for owners, executives, nonprofit leaders, operational managers, and leadership teams who are willing to examine their organizations candidly.

That means being willing to challenge assumptions. It means listening to perspectives beyond the executive office. It means accepting that the first explanation for a problem may not be the correct one. And it means being prepared to make choices once the important issues become clear.

The work is particularly useful when an organization is:

  • Establishing strategic direction
  • Revisiting an existing plan
  • Facing an important decision
  • Struggling with execution
  • Experiencing recurring operational problems
  • Seeing deterioration in customer experience
  • Navigating growth or transition
  • Considering a significant opportunity
  • Recognizing that the current approach is no longer sufficient

What Holland Resource Does Not Do

Holland Resource is intentionally not structured as a large, full-service consulting firm. You should not expect large implementation teams, extensive embedded management, open-ended consulting assignments, guaranteed revenue, growth or savings, legal, accounting, investment, or other regulated professional advice, or a predetermined methodology forced onto every organization. The work begins with your situation — not a package.

Start With a Conversation

You may already know which service best fits your situation. Or you may simply know that something needs attention. Either is a reasonable place to begin. The first conversation is an opportunity to discuss the situation, identify the questions that matter most, and determine whether Holland Resource can provide useful perspective.
